The Artist Who Took a Chance with a Designer
Overview
In 2013, Nour Tohamy founded Sparks Fly I Draw. A few years later, the humble Instagram profile evolved into an art-lifestyle studio specialising in conceptual feminine-vintage art. In the near future, Nour plans to host frequent in-person and online classes, create art books and offer unique merchandise for dedicated fans.
The Challenge
Sparks Fly I Draw is seeking a platform to launch their re-brand and facilitate their future goals. This re-brand will focus on establishing Sparks Fly I Draw as a full-time Art Studio that attracts music-loving, book-enthusiastic students and the like seeking a conceptual feminine-vintage aesthetic.
The Approach
Create an exciting feminine-vintage brand to attract interest in local and online workshops, increase private commissions, purchases of products and exposure to the brand. The brand will need to stand out and have a strong appeal.
Moodboard
After filling out a brand questionnaire, we proposed three moodboards to capture the variability of our chosen brand words. Nour chose the third moodboard.
Branding
With the moodboard to refer to, we were able to create three logo concepts for Nour. Choosing to display the logo on products Nour may use one day helped her to visualise the best logo. Nour chose the logo below.
After two rounds of revision, we were able to perfect the logo and create the outstanding logo suite.
Collateral
As part of Nour’s branding package, we included social media launch images, a flyer (that was swapped out for a business card of equal value), favicon and brand guidelines (a 38-page document).
Website
As an extension of Nour’s Ultimate Creative Services Package we built a website. For every website project we set goals to focus on. This helps both the designer and client to stay on track and meet their business goals. Nour’s goal was to first promote her in-person workshops, and second offer her illustration services and prints. Along with setting the goals, we draft a site-map and web style-tile (which is a preview of what the overall website will look like).
Wireframing
Wireframes are the structural lines that build your website before it goes into design and development. We respect that content takes time to build so we provide a content workbook early in the process to gather our client’s details. With the content ready to go, we position it on the wire frames to give our clients a visual idea.
Build
At this stage, we put all the foundational elements together and create a special product for our client. Throughout every milestone, we offer an opportunity to offer feedback so our partners are heard.
